Where We Work:
Waterproofing Across the Upper Cumberland
We're a family-owned crew based in Cookeville, and we make the drive ourselves — this is a service area, not a franchise territory. Here's exactly where we work, and what the ground tends to do in each place.
The Upper Cumberland. Our home ground.
Limestone, clay and plateau sandstone — between them, they put water where it doesn't belong across this part of the state. We've been working under these houses for years, and in our experience the problem is rarely where the homeowner expects it to be.
Cookeville
Our shop is on Humble Drive. Much of the Highland Rim under Putnam County is karst limestone — the same ground that gives the county its sinkholes — and what we usually find is water travelling sideways along rock instead of soaking away.

Straight west on I-40. We see a lot of newer builds on cut-and-fill lots here, where one side of the crawl space takes everything the slope sheds and the other side stays bone dry.

Up on the plateau, the highest ground we work. Thin soil over rock doesn't hold much rain, so what falls has to go somewhere — and often enough that's toward the foundation.

The Cumberland Plateau is capped with sandstone. What we typically find is water moving along the top of that rock rather than down through it — which is why a French drain on its own so often doesn't solve it here. Fairfield Glade and Lake Tansi included.

Center Hill Lake country. The lake homes we work on tend to have water that comes and goes with the season — which gets misread as a plumbing leak more often than not.

About fifteen miles northwest of us, and a good deal lower — Gainesboro sits near 570 feet where Cookeville is over a thousand. Older homes, shallow crawl spaces, damp ground.
